Against the Odds: Duke favored by double digits over Pitt

Duke is a heavy favorite over the Panthers with Coach K returning.

This is not an ideal situation for Pitt this afternoon. They looked worlds better on Tobacco Road, in a two point loss to North Carolina last game. That dropped them to 12-10 and 1-8 in the conference. It also ran their losing streak to seven straight. Despite looking like they actually cared about the outcome in Chapel Hill, they will now face the 21st ranked Duke Blue Devils. Not only will the game be at the always entertaining Cameron Indoor Stadium, but Duke will also get coach Mike Krzyzewski back from back surgery. The Blue Devils were 4-3 without Coach K.

That will be a welcomed sight for 21st ranked Duke. They tried to get a jump start before he returned by winning by 10, on the road, against Notre Dame. That victory pushed them to 17-5 and 5-4 in the ACC. Duke will be trying to climb back up to a ranking closer to what they are accustomed to this time of year and Vegas believes with the home crowd and Coach K, they will do so.

Vegas has given the Blue Devils a 14 point edge over Pitt for this afternoon. The entire country will also tune in to see if Duke was simply missing their long time head coach the last few weeks. The game tips off at 1PM and can be seen on CBS. Can Pitt have two games in a row, where they look like they are more than just interested observers? We only have a few more hours to find out.
