Pitt vs. Boston College: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Finally a winnable game, right?

I guess that's the mindset going into tonight's contest against Boston College. On paper, this is the most likely win left for the Panthers. And while Pitt has been bad this season, there's no doubt that the Eagles have been worse. They have one more conference win so are technically ahead of Pitt in the standings. But Boston College is 9-15 overall and has dropped seven straight games.

The biggest question on the Pitt side of things is to see if they manage to put forth the same type of effort they did in close games against North Carolina and Duke. Both of those were losses but that kind of effort would have beaten many other teams.

If Pitt doesn't play hard enough, then you know it won't be a walkover. On paper, it looks like a game Pitt should win. But it's also a road contest and this season we've seen some odd things such as a loss to Duquesne, a 55-point blowout to Louisville, and eight straight conference losses.

Game time at 7:00 p.m. Locally, you can catch it on ROOT Sports.
