Pitt football was dealt some bad news on Monday with the announcement that wide receiver Tre Tipton would miss the entire 2017 season with a knee injury.
The injury is classified as a non-football injury with nothing more than that being disclosed.
Definitely a bummer and Tipton had showed some promise last season (12 catches for 142 yards and a touchdown). He had modest production but also missed about 1/3 of the season with injuries. Tipton had a nice seven-game stretch where he recorded at least one catch in every contest.
A little later, I'll break down what this means for the team.
