Pitt fullback George Aston out with another injury

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt fullback George Aston was an integral part of Pitt's offense last season. He not only served as merely a lead blocker in the running game, but he also scored ten touchdowns of his own and was a factor in the goal line offense.

After missing most of this season Aston recently returned to duty. But the Panthers may again be without his services. Against Rice on Saturday, Aston went down with an injury and didn't return.

The Panthers' run game continues to miss him as both a blocker and a ball-carrier. On Saturday, the running backs again couldn't find my running room as Qadree Ollison, Chawntez Moss, and A.J. Davis had 22 carries for only 45 yards. That won't cut it since the passing game won't always be as effective as it was today.

Asked after the game if there was an update on George Aston, head coach Pat Narduzzi simply said no.
