Pitt's basketball team is still in search of its first ACC victory on Saturday facing Georgia Tech. The Panthers are 5 1/2 to 6-point underdogs here but if you're looking for one of the more winnable games, this would appear to be one.
Pitt still might not be able to come out on top but at 9-7, Georgia Tech has struggled a little at times this year. The flip is that they're on a three-game winning streak, which includes wins over Miami and Notre Dame. In addition, Pitt has been completely outclassed since ACC competition began. They were in a game with Virginia Tech until the end where they ultimate lost by 14 points. Other than that, Pitt has largely been dominated.
As I answered in the Q&A with SB Nation's Georgia Tech blog From the Rumble Seat, while we might think Pitt can steal an ACC game or two, it's way too hard to predict them to actually come out on top. I just can't expect this team to win any particularly ACC game. That said, if you'r circling the handful that might be doable, this could be one.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and, locally, you can see it on WTAE.
