Pitt vs. Virginia: Open Gamethread

Pitt (4-4) faces Virginia (6-2) tonight meaning that, we’ll not only have our Saturday to ourselves but also that the Panthers will be a bit more under the national microscope.

As I said about Syracuse and Duke earlier this year, I’m not quite sure Virginia is as good as their record. But now ranked No. 25 and playing well, particularly on defense, they could be the best team of that group. Plus, facing the Cavaliers on the road presents what will probably be a very stiff challenge. The Panthers got a few points in this week’s Coaches Poll last week, which seemed premature. But should they win this one, they could get significantly more consideration if they look good while doing it.
