(Don’t) Bet the Farm: Pitt-Virginia Tech Picks

Big game this weekend and we’re back with our weekly picks.

Most of us are calling for a Pitt win, and that includes myself. But the overwhelming feeling I’ve got about this game is that Virginia Tech is probably being overlooked a little by the Pitt fanbase.

Now, the Hokies haven’t been great. But I do think they’re being underrated by fans simply because they’re not as good as they were projected to be. They’ve had some ugly losses this year to Old Dominion and Georgia Tech but also handled Duke and North Carolina on the road better than Pitt did.

I do like the Panthers here but I say that with less confidence than many Pitt fans have, I imagine. It’s imperative that Pitt wins this one. They don’t want to put themselves in the position of having to win the final two games with one of those a road contest against Miami.
