Pitt volleyball finishes season No. 14 in final poll

Kayla Lund 2017 Volleyball

Pitt’s volleyball season has been over for a little while after their second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament. But the Panthers got one final piece of ‘news’ as they were ranked No. 14 in the final poll of the year.

As the team account tweeted earlier, it was the first time that Pitt finishes a season as a ranked team.

The season ended on a disappointing note for sure. The Panthers lost star Kayla Lund to an injury in the opening match of the tournament and then dropped a match in five sets to Michigan. The loss to the Wolverines ultimately dropped Pitt three spots. But there’s still no doubt the program is trending upward and this year’s incredible 30-2 season proves that.
