The California wild fires from last month were horrific for the families and communities involved, and it sounds like RS Junior QB Ricky Town’s family was one of them.
Ricky Town is from Newbury Park, California, and Newbury Park was one of the many towns in California that were affected by the fires. Pat Narduzzi announced today that Ricky Town had left the team due issues stemming from the wildfires.
News from Narduzzi: Backup QB Ricky Town, whose family had issues with the wild fires in California, has left the team. He will not transfer.

Ricky Town set to graduate and transfer. Pitt's scholarship QB's next year will presumably be Pickett, George Jr., Patti, and newly signed Davis Beville. JG3 doesn't have a scholarship, but he may just get Town's.

Ricky Town finishes his Pitt career with 1 completion for 15 yards on 1 attempt versus Albany.
Pitt’s QB depth is now not great, but certainly better than it was around January of last year. Pitt may go after another grad or regular transfer QB to provide more depth, but it won’t be totally necessary. I do think Pitt will get transfers at other positions, but QB may not be one of them.
Best of luck to Ricky
