3* Pitt DL commit Brandon Mack has decommitted

After flirting with other programs the last few weeks, Mack has announced he will look elsewhere

Recruiting is not for the faint of heart, and sometimes you lose commits you’d really like to hang on to. 3* Brandon Mack is the latest example as he announced he was decommitting this afternoon

The Montgomery, Alabama native had visited Pitt last June and committed pretty quickly after, but has been shaky the last few months. He had officially visited Florida Atlantic on 12/7 after visiting Missouri on 11/30. He has scheduled a visit to Ole Miss on 1/25/18 as well.

Narduzzi still has a home visit to use with Mack, so there is a chance, albeit small, to convince Mack to rethink his decision. Overall, he has or had numerous offers from SEC schools, and it’s not hard to get the vibe that he wants to stay in that region.

For Pitt, this isn’t great. Mack looks like a great prospect on film, and it would have been really nice to keep him in the fold. Narduzzi has pulled rabbits out of his hat in previous years in the last month of the cycle, but it’s unclear how the early signing period changes that for this year.
