Pitt WR Darian Street to transfer

The redshirt freshman will look for opportunities elsewhere

NCAA Football: Virginia Tech at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The end of the regular season as well as the offseason is always a time that players evaluate where they stand on the team. Redshirt freshman Darien Street has decided to look for opportunities elsewhere with another program.

Street only played in the ACC Championship game this year, but did not record a catch. Most Pitt fans will recognize his last name as he is the younger brother of former Pitt WR Devin Street who at one time lead Pitt all time in career receptions.

Coming out of high school, Pitt was Darian’s only Power 5 offer, though he did commit in early June and it’s possible he would have accumulated more offers.

On the surface, this doesn’t seem to be a huge loss. Pitt was already looking at being over its scholarship limit for next year, and attrition is a pretty normal part of college football.

It’s unclear where Street will head next, but we wish him luck.
