Pitt vs. Louisville: Open Gamethread

NCAA Basketball: Pittsburgh at Louisville Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

The Pitt men’s basketball team returns home for its next game today against Louisville. Getting back to The Pete has to be somewhat welcome after the team was pounded in ugly losses on the road to Top 20 North Carolina and Clemson teams.

Getting home is the good news. The bad news is that the Panthers have to play a difficult Louisville team. The Cardinals come into this one on a bit of a slide, having lost three of their last four games. Two of those were within five points, though, and Louisville also beat Pitt by 26 points earlier this season in one of many blowout losses for the Panthers.

There’s likely to be some mention during the game of Kevin Stallings’ controversial in-game actions the last time these two teams met. We’ll see if he addresses it afterwards but my guess is that if there are any questions about it that there won’t be too much elaboration since it happened more than a month ago.

Playing Louisville at home might be a little better than taking on the Tar Heels and Tigers on the road but not by much, folks.
