The Pitt basketball team takes on Louisville this afternoon and you probably don’t need me to tell you the odds aren’t in their favor. The Panthers dropped a game to the Cardinals earlier this year on the road by 26 points and aren’t expected to win this one.
But the spread for today’s game seems to indicate a much closer game this time around.
The line opened at about 10 1/2 points in Louisville’s favor and has grown slightly to 11 1/2 to 12. When you consider how bad the game went the first time around, keeping things to around ten points would seem to be an achievement of sorts.
That would also continue the theme that Pitt has played teams a little better the second time around. The Panthers have played three teams (Miami, Syracuse, and Duke) twice this season and have kept things closer the second time around each time.
