In the wake of the 74-54 thumping that UMBC laid on Virginia, some fans just couldn’t resist pointing out that UMBC now had more ACC wins than Pitt.

While this was quickly replaced by the same people pointing out that Jamie Dixon tends to lose to lower seeds in the early rounds of the NCAA Tournament (sorry I couldn’t resist), I couldn’t help but ponder something:
Poll
Would you have rather had the Panthers season or the Cavaliers?
Lets keep this purely about wins and losses, and the end result: Pitt didn’t win a conference game while Virginia ended up as the No. 1 overall seed only to become the first team ever to lose to a 16-seed.
