Pitt’s baseball and softball teams both headed down to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, this weekend to take on the Tar Heels, and while the outcomes of their respective series differed drastically, the two teams at least produced some material for the highlight reel, as they both came up with immaculate plays and made the “SportsCenter” Top 10 on ESPN.

Panthers infielder Olivia Gray made the 10 spot on the countdown when she elevated for an incredible catch, robbing North Carolina’s Leah Murray of a leadoff base hit in the bottom of the first inning in Pitt’s 8-4 loss on Friday.
At No. 6 on the Top 10, Pitt’s Alex Amos could be seen jumping over a Tar Heel catcher on Friday to plate a run in the top of the first of the Panthers’ 15-3 loss.
The Pitt softball team was able to right the ship and rebound for two wins over their ACC rivals, but the baseball team suffered a three-game sweep. Both are heading back to Pennsylvania this week and will be in action Wednesday.
The baseball team will face Penn State on the road, and the softball team will take on St. Francis (Pa.) in its home opener, which will get underway from Vartabedian Field at 4 p.m. ET.
