Pitt senior Giorgiana Zeremenko continued her big season with a huge series against North Carolina over the weekend. The Panthers won two out of three games against the Tar Heels and Zeremenko’s performance was a big reason why.
Zeremenko hit three home runs (one in each game), going 7-10 in the series, including three doubles. So the fact that she was named ACC Player of the Week seemed almost like a foregone conclusion.
While the team has been a little up and down, Zeremenko has been steady. Earlier this season, she set the new career home record for Pitt softball and with plenty of schedule left, can add to her totals.
Zeremenko currently has ten home runs and is 14th in the nation in long balls.
