After playing underdog the past two weeks against Penn State and Georgia Tech, Pitt will likely head into this week’s game as the favorite.
Pitt opened as a three-point favorite and many sports books have pushed to that to four.
Pitt as the favorite here makes sense. I mentioned earlier in the preview that I was surprised to see ESPN’s game predictor giving the Tar Heels a 66% chance to win the game. North Carolina has not looked good this year and, most recently, lost by 22 points to an East Carolina team that dropped their season opener to FCS program North Carolina A&T.
Pitt enters the game at 2-1 while the Tar Heels are 0-2, also losing a contest to Cal.
