NCAA Football: ACC Championship-Clemson vs Miami Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt doesn’t play this weekend but I typically like to throw an open gamethread up when that’s the case, just to allow for some football talk. Some intriguing ACC games today that relate to Pitt (and others, obviously).

If you missed it last night, Pitt got some help when Miami defeated Virginia. The Panthers still need help to win the Coastal but there’s no doubt that win helped.

Clemson-Florida State is the one that’s going to be on the radar for most and that one’s at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. Me? I’m probably even more interested in Wake-Louisville. If Wake wins that one, and they’re favored, they’d be 6-0 and should start garnering a bit more attention. Louisville isn’t a great team but it would be a pretty solid win for Wake. That one’s on the ACC Network at 7:30 p.m.

Around the country, plenty to watch, too. Florida/LSU, Oklahoma/Texas, Bama/A&M, Penn State/Iowa. Lots of ranked matchups today. If there’s a day where Pitt has to be off, today is a good one for that if you just enjoy college football.

Feel free to use this space to comment during any of the games today.
