Against the Odds: Pitt favored against Syracuse this weekend

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Duke James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt has a tough matchup this weekend, traveling on the road to face Syracuse. But despite playing on the road, the Panthers are slight favorites.

Pitt opened as a 2.5-point favorite and now sits at about a 3.5-point favorite. That could, of course, fluctuate a little more, depending on what kind of money is put on either team.

The line sounds about right to me. The Panthers are 4-2 while Syracuse is 3-3, and Pitt has played a tougher schedule. Playing on the road, I would still make Pitt the favorite in this one. But as the line indicates, they are favorites by only by a thin margin.

This one could go either way but if you’re picking a favorite here, it’s probably the Panthers.
