Last weekend, Pitt was a big favorite against Delaware and didn’t come anywhere close to covering. Not only that, the Panthers came pretty close to losing the game outright.
This week, Pitt sees itself as a solid underdog against Duke.
The Panthers opened as seven-point underdogs but that has since come down to about five points (5 1⁄2 in some places).
Pitt as the underdog isn’t a huge surprise, I suppose. Particularly after this weekend’s games. While the Panthers nearly lost to Delaware at home, Duke crushed ACC foe Virginia Tech on the road.
