Against the Odds: Pitt favored against Miami

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Duke James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off a win against Syracuse this past weekend, Pitt takes the field against Miami this weekend. The Panthers get the game at home and are considered a small favorite.

Pitt opened as a three-point favorite and that spread is, as of now, up to five in most places.

This game is not viewed by fans as an easy one, despite the fact that Miami is 3-4 and fresh off a loss to formerly last place Georgia Tech this weekend. It seems like a difficult game to predict just because we know Miami has speed and enough talent to win. That was evidenced in the team’s 17-9 upset win over Virginia a few weeks ago.

Both teams bring pretty good defenses into the game and this has the look of a low-scoring contest. Pitt certainly comes in with the better resume here but that’s not enough to make me feel too comfortable just yet.

What’s your take on the line?
