As expected, Pitt is the favorite to win this weekend’s game against Georgia Tech.
I’ve seen some varying numbers out there but the Panthers appear to have opened as nine or ten-point favorites in the game. That number came down to around eight but the clear indication here is that Pitt is expected to win.
As I wrote in the preview, both offenses have struggled to score points. That could mean that trying to pick this game while factoring in the spread is a bit difficult. And if Pitt had shown even a wee bit more offensively than the 12 points they mustered against Miami, I would expect this number to be larger.
The reality is, though, that expecting Pitt to score a ton of points and cover and sort of big number is just way too unpredictable at this point — even against the likes of Georgia Tech, which has really struggled this season. I think the number could be higher but understand why it is not.
What about you? Assuming Pitt at -8, what do you think of this week’s line?
