Pitt’s basketball team takes the court for a neutral site game in the Fort Myers tipoff tonight, facing Kansas State. The game is part of a four-team tournament that ends on Wednesday.
The Panthers (4-2) will be taking on a Wildcats team that is undefeated, sitting at 4-0. Despite that and some struggles by Pitt against weaker opponents, Kansas State is still relatively unproven and only a small favorite in this one.
The season is early but Pitt and Kansas State have already played a couple of common opponents. Pitt had an easier time with Arkansas Pine-Bluff while Kansas State defeated Monmouth by a larger margin than the Panthers did.
Depending on the result, Pitt will play either Bradley or Northwestern on Wednesday in a third place or championship game.
