Pitt vs. Nicholls State: Open Gamethread

After a great win this week against Florida State to open the season, the men’s basketball team is back in action today with a game against Nicholls State. With the football team on a bye, more folks should be able to keep an eye on this one more than they would have otherwise.

This one figures to be a bit easier than the Florida State contest, obviously. Hopefully that leads to some better shooting and a more polished offense this time around. The Panthers looked rough offensively on their way to shooting just over 31% from the field against the Seminoles.

Still, if you’re expecting a complete pushover, you should keep in mind that Nicholls State nearly won at Illinois in their opener, taking the Illini to overtime, before losing, 78-70. This very much could turn into a disaster if Pitt doesn’t take them seriously.

The Panthers will host the contest at the Pete and you can catch it on ACC Network Extra at noon EST.
