Pitt Men’s Basketball ACC Opponents through 2022 released

The ACC announced all future ACC basketball matchups through 2022 for its members

NCAA Basketball: Pittsburgh at Boston College Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt learned exactly what their ACC schedule would look like for men’s basketball for the next three seasons today. The conference released the list of opponents each program would face each year through 2021-2022 today.

The schedules for Pitt are as follows:

2019-2020

Permanent Cross Over (Home and Away): Louisville and Syracuse

Home and Away: FSU, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina

Home Only: Boston College, Clemson, Virginia, Wake Forest

Away Only: Duke, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech

2020-2021

Permanent Cross Over (Home and Away): Louisville and Syracuse

Home and Away: Clemson, Duke, North Carolina State, Wake Forest

Home Only: Florida State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech

Away Only: Boston College, Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia

2021-2022

Permanent Cross Over (Home and Away): Louisville and Syracuse

Home and Away: Boston College, Notre Dame, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Home Only: Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina State

Away Only: Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, Wake Forest

Pitt will play Louisville and Syracuse twice every season for the foreseeable future as they are Pitt’s permanent cross over opponents for basketball similar to how Syracuse is Pitt’s permanent cross over in ACC football.

Pitt has an inherently more difficult schedule than some of the other ACC counterparts due to where their crossover rivals are currently. For example, Notre Dame plays Boston College and Georgia Tech twice every year which are two programs that haven’t been very strong recently compared to Louisville and Syracuse. Having said that, that’s Pitt’s path, and Pitt has a long way to go to for two tougher games to matter all that much in the grand scheme of things.

Is there anything that sticks out to you about Pitt’s schedule or any other ACC team’s schedules?
