Pitt linebacker Elijah Zeise was not selected in the NFL Draft this weekend. However, he will get his chance to play in the pros as he is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers. That news comes per the Trib’s Jerry DiPaola, who tweeted the news shortly after the NFL Draft concluded.

Zeise was a key player in Pitt’s linebacking corps. He started each of the past two seasons, recording a total of 97 tackles in 2017 and 2018.
Many Pitt fans may not remember that Zeise actually began his career as a wide receiver. After redshirting in 2014 and playing a minor role in 2015, he was moved to defense in 2016 for his sophomore season. He began the year as a starter but was injured in the opener and missed the rest of the regular season.
