Earlier today, senior shortstop Olivia Gray and sophomore outfielder Hunter Levesque were named to the All-ACC Second Team, as voted by the 12 head coaches in the ACC. Here is the link to the ACC press release.
Gray was a first team selection last season, but an injury earlier in the season limited her to participating in just 33 contests. In many ways, she was the heart and soul of the team and a nomination to the second team is extremely impressive.
Levesque was named to the All-Freshman team last year. She enjoyed a stellar sophomore campaign, especially during conference play: Hunter carried a .366 batting average in 24 games.
This is the second consecutive year that both have been selected to an All-ACC team. Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh Panthers (13-41, 7-17) did not qualify for the ACC tournament that starts tomorrow. With that said, it’s nice to see that both Gray and Levesque were recognized for their stellar performances.
