The Pitt women’s basketball team learned of its opponent this in week in this season’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge — Penn State.
Safe to say, that opponent should draw some interest from even casual followers of the program. Unfortunately, it will be a road game for Pitt as they’ll travel to Penn State for the game on Thursday, December 5. Time and TV information are yet to be announced.
“The ACC/Big Ten Challenge is always a highlight of the non-conference schedule for us and being matched up against Penn State this season makes it even more special for us,” said second-year head coach Lance White. “I love that our players get to play not only for Pitt, but also feeling the responsibility of representing the best conference in the country, the ACC.”
Pitt’s game in the event last season was also on the road, so it’s a little disappointing that they won’t be at home for the game this year. But a chance to play a rivalry game sort of makes up for it.
Last season, neither team was very good. The Panthers were 11-20 while Penn State was only 12-18.
