Pitt volleyball sits atop 2019 Preseason ACC Rankings

The 2019 Preseason ACC Volleyball poll was released and, as expected, Pitt is seen as the heavy favorite in the conference.

The Panthers won the ACC title last season and return almost everyone in a year that saw them ranked as one of the top teams in the entire country.

Pitt received a total of 13 of the available 15 first-place votes with Florida State getting the other two. Coaches participating could not vote for themselves, so one of the Seminoles’ votes would have come from Pitt, obviously. But where the other came from is unknown since it could not have come from themselves.

We can’t be sure how this year will play out but picking against Pitt here seems like a tough thing to do. The Panthers dominated the conference last year and return most of their offensive stars.

In addition, Pitt also was prominently featured on the Preseason All-ACC Team. Four players, Kayla Lund, Nika Markovic, Layne Van Buskirk, and Stephanie Williams all made the team. The four players from the Panthers were the most of any team in the conference.
