Pitt-Penn State under weather delay

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Penn State Matthew O’Haren-USA TODAY Sports

The 100th meeting of Pitt-Penn State will be played today but it will come a little later than expected.

Scheduled for noon EST, the game has been delayed due to lightning in the area. Per the television broadcast on ABC, while the exact kickoff time is to be determined, they are currently anticipating a start of approximately 12:40 p.m. with the players participating in an extended warmup period.

That anticipated start time, of course, is based on additional lightning staying out of the area. We’ll have more news on the delay as it breaks.

Pitt enters the game as a heavy underdog. And of course, be sure to join us here once the game kicks off to comment live during the contest.
