The Pitt football team is favored to defeat Ohio but the game is expected to be closer than some fans might realize.
The Panthers are currently about a 5.5-6.0 favorite against Ohio this weekend. But that number had to come up dramatically as the Panthers were originally only favored by 3.5 points at the open.
Pitt was soundly defeated by Virginia in an opener that wasn’t as close as predicted. Additionally, Ohio won their first game against Rhode Island by three touchdowns. Those two factors likely led to the narrow opening margin.
Whether or not the line moves at all as the week goes on is unknown. But for now, Vegas odds point to a close contest.
