Welp, the staff went straight goose eggs on last week’s picks. While there was plenty to be concerned about coming out of Pitt’s game against Virginia, the Cardiac Hill staff’s picks are the same as last week for their game against Ohio University.
Anson (0-1) - Pitt
JD (0-1) - Pitt
Jordan (0-1) - Pitt
Matt (0-1) - Pitt
Stephen (0-1) - Pitt
Corey (0-1) - Pitt
Mike (0-1) – Pitt
This still isn’t quite the tune up game you would want have Pitt to start with last week with the new offense. Miami is a good team, finishing 9-4 last season with a 6-2 record in the MAC. In their opener, Ohio beat Rhode Island 41-20 behind QB Nathan Rourke’s performance of 16 of 22 for 188 passing yards and 2 TDs. He also added another 79 yards and a TD on the ground. He’s a capable dual threat, and Pitt will have the same objectives as they did against UVA’s Bryce Perkins.
Despite our picks being unanimous, Pitt is only a 4 point favorite against the Bobcats. You have to hope that the UVA game showed Pitt where they need to improve, and they implement some changes to get more out of the offense. Personally, I hope they run the ball a bit more. Davis and Sibley showed promise, and I’m hoping the offense isn’t quite as pass happy this week.
