Mid-Afternoon Games

Phil Jurkovec passed for 313 yards in a losing cause as the Tar Heels built an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, and when BC scored a late TD to pull within two, UNC got an interception on the on the potential game-tying two-point conversion attempt and returned it all the way to give UNC the final margin of victory.

__________
Virginia Tech Hokies 38 at Duke Blue Devils 31
The Hokies went into this game without their first and second string corners on defense, yet still managed to contain Duke quarterback Chase Brice to just 271 yards. The Seminoles spotted the Gamecocks a 14-point lead not once, but twice in the first half before the FSU offense finally came alive to tie the game before intermission, then pulled away in the second half - just the opposite of what was happening last year when the Noles would build, then lose, early leads.

Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence passed for 329 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers built a 21-point lead in the second quarter, then rolled to an 18-point victory over the Cavaliers.
