Pitt has a huge test this weekend against No. 4 Clemson and, as expected, Vegas isn’t expecting the Panthers to come out on top.
The Panthers currently are a 3+ touchdown underdog with most lines having Clemson as a 24 or 24 1/2-point favorite. That number has come down ever so slightly from the opening line, which was listed as 26 points. But no mistake, that’s still a huge number for a conference game.
That might sound too big for some Pitt fans that recall the team’s major upset over Clemson back in 2016. But obviously, these two teams are much different and, even beyond that, the Panthers were dominated in their other big game matchup this year in an ugly 45-3 loss to now No. 2 Notre Dame.
What about you — what do you think of the odds? Me, I’ve got no beef. We’ve seen two really strong performances by the Panthers in the last two weeks so this is a team that seems to be trending upward. At the same time, Pitt has failed its two big tests of the year so far against Notre Dame and Miami, and that Irish game was particularly brutal.
