The Pitt men’s basketball season tips off tonight with a game against St. Francis (the Pennsylvania one, boys and girls).
The game, of course, is expected to be a relatively easy one for the Panthers. Pitt enters the game as a solid favorite and, well, it’s hard to see it otherwise. If the Panthers struggle, it won’t be a great showing for a team hoping to get over the .500 hurdle — especially because the non-conference game is shortened.
Don’t sleep too much on St. Francis. Last year, they were an impressive 22-10 and, as an ACC benchmark, played to a respectable 15-point loss on the road at Florida State. Still, this figures to be a much different Red Flash team as they have lost their top two players from last year — Isaiah Blackmon and Keith Braxton, who combined for just over 36 points per game.
Game time is 7:00 p.m. and you can catch it on WatchESPN. Comment here live during the game.
