The game will serve as the public debut of incoming freshmen Israel Abanikanda, Jordan Addison, Solomon DeShields, Aydin Henningham, Buddy Mack and A.J. Roberts as well as incoming transfers Lucas Krull and Joey Yellen, all of whom enrolled early and are expected to take part in the Blue-Gold Game.
In addition, the scrimmage will cap off Pitt’s 15 spring practice sessions. This year, the team's practice sessions are set to begin on March 3.
Last year, the spring game took place on April 13, and the blue team beat the gold team by a score of 14-7. Notable alums Aaron Donald and LeSean McCoy were in attendance for the matchup. The blue team brings a two-year winning streak into the 2020 scrimmage, as it also defeated the gold team 10-3 in 2018.
