Pitt continues its run in the ACC Tournament today with a game against NC State.
The Wolfpack (19-12) are seeded significantly higher than the Panthers (16-16), of course. But the Panthers can look back to a head to head road game on February 29 when they nearly took down NC State, losing 77-73. What could be working against the Panthers is that they’ll be playing their second game in two days while the Wolfpack entered the tournament with a first-round bye.
Pitt will hope to get another big performance from freshman Justin Champagnie, who had 31 points in the team’s opening round win against Wake Forest on Tuesday. But aside from that, they’ll need others to step up. What shouldn’t be lost is that, in addition to Champagnie’s 31 points, Pitt also had four other players in double figures. The Panthers will need several guys to step up if they want to advance.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and you can see it on ESPN. Join us here to comment live during the game.
