Pitt-Georgia Tech: Open Gamethread

The Pitt men’s basketball team concludes its regular season tonight with a game against Georgia Tech.

The Panthers (15-15), of course, are in the midst of a season-worst six-game losing streak. In fact, the team’s last win came against the Yellow Jackets (15-14) nearly a month ago on February 8.

After a positive start, the hope was that Pitt would finish in the middle of the pack of the ACC. That proved to be unrealistic and, even with the conference in a down season, Pitt’s 6-13 ACC record is tied for last place. Pitt is also, of course, playing to finish the regular season above .500. On the road at Georgia Tech, nothing is guaranteed there, even with the earlier home win. In fact, the Yellow Jackets are favored by about six points.
