Pitt tight end grad transfer Lucas Krull named to John Mackey Award Watch List

The college football award watch lists are continuing to find their way into the news. Pitt graduate tight end transfer Lucas Krull finds himself on the latest one.

Krull was named to the preseason John Mackey Award watch list as he prepares to play with the Panthers this season after transferring from Florida.

He would have an uphill battle to winning the award, seemingly. Pitt has often not used its tight ends all that frequently. Additionally, even with the Gators, Krull was used sparingly catching a total of nine passes in his 25 combined games over the last two seasons.

You never know, though, and with the loss of Maurice Ffrench and his school record 96 receptions last year, there’s plenty of opportunity.

The full watch list can be seen here.
