The Pitt football season is just around the corner and, on Friday, the Panthers named their team captains for 2020.
This year’s captains will be safety Damar Hamlin, defensive end Patrick Jones, center Jimmy Morrissey, and quarterback Kenny Pickett. Captains were voted on by the players on the team and announced by head coach Pat Narduzzi.
“Our team made outstanding selections in voting these four players captains for the 2020 season,” Narduzzi said. “Damar, Patrick, Jimmy and Kenny have really shown themselves to be outstanding leaders, especially during a challenging offseason and unconventional training camp. They are highly deserving of the honor of wearing that ‘C’ on their uniforms.”
All four players are seniors and will be key pieces of this year’s team. You have to imagine that senior Jaylen Twyman would have likely been a selection if not for his decision to sit out this year. But all four of the captains are certainly deserving and will lead this team into the season.
