Pitt vs. Syracuse: Open Gamethread

NCAA Basketball: Pittsburgh at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Last we saw the Pitt men’s basketball team, they were completing a thrilling comeback against the Syracuse Orange ten days ago. Since then, the Panthers have had two games postponed and today, they’ll face Syracuse in a rematch at The Pete.

Pitt (6-2) was shorthanded the last time out and that expects to be the case again. The team is still missing star Justin Champagnie but this week, news broke that the team had also suspended talented freshman John Hugley over reported felony charges.

Hugley has worked his way into the lineup, earning regular time on the court this season. He hasn’t dominated for the Panthers, averaging 5.1 ppg and 4.3 rpg, but his presence in the middle will be missed.
