The Pitt volleyball team concluded its regular season much in the way they have most of their matches this spring — in dominant fashion.
The Panthers started with a 3-0 sweep over Clemson on Thursday. As expected, Pitt had little trouble with the Tigers, winning in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, and 25-17. Jordan Lockwood led the team with 11 kills in that one.
On Friday, Pitt dominated Virginia Tech for yet another 3-0 win this season. There, Chinaza Ndee paced the Panthers with 14 kills as Pitt rolled, 25-11, 25-18, and 25-21.
Pitt wraps up the season with a strong 16-4 record and lately, the team has been even more dominant than its overall record suggests. The Panthers have been undefeated this spring, winning all 12 of its matches while losing a total of only five sets. Eight of their 12 matches have resulted in 3-0 sweeps.
The Panthers will now await their NCAA Tournament fate to be announced on Sunday at the NCAA Tournament Selection Show (4:00 p.m. EST on ESPNU).
