Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt coaching staff hosted Camden Brown, a wide receiver for national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for an official visit over the weekend, and on Sunday, he announced his commitment to the program.

“First off, I want to thank God for giving me a special talent and gift to play this game, which I have dedicated my entire life to,” Brown said. “Second, I would like to thank my dad, my mama, Mrs. Cent, Coach Harriott, Coach Nelson, Coach Taylor, Coach Hardge, Coach Braverman and Coach Herve. Next, I woul like to thank my teammates, [and] I look forward to us dominating the field this year. With that being said, I am very blessed to say I am committed to the University of Pittsburgh.”

The 6’3”, 195-pound wide receiver holds three-star ratings from Rivals and 247Sports. Rivals considers him the No. 79 wide receiver in the 2022 class as well as the No. 79 recruit in Florida. 247Sports places him at No. 109 at his position and No. 100 in the Sunshine State.

Over the course of his recruitment, Brown drew 17 offers, and he chose Pitt over Auburn, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Memphis, Ole Miss, Syracuse and Virginia. This month, Brown also visited Auburn and UCF and aside from Pitt, they were the only schools he visited.

Brown is the second wide receiver Pitt has added to its 2022 class. The first was Addison Copeland, a 6’3”, 190-pound pass-catcher out of Buffalo, New York. And with Brown and Copeland’s size, Kenny Pickett’s successor should have an easy time spotting targets.

In addition, Brown is the second Florida recruit Pitt has added to its 2022 class, with the first being Tampa running back Jordaan Bailey. Brown is also Pitt's eighth 2022 recruit.
