Pitt DE Deslin Alexandre signs with the New York Jets

Alexandre becomes the third Panther to join the New York Jets rookies

The Pittsburgh Panthers have yet another member of their team joining the New York Jets. After selecting Carter Warren and Israel Abanikanda in the NFL draft, the Jets have once again shifted their focus to adding another Panther. Defensive end Deslin Alexandre will be joining the Jets as a UDFA according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Even with injuries, Alexandre still managed to get 29 tackles, 6.5 stops for a loss, and 5.5 sacks on the way to earning All-ACC honorable mention. Alexandre was also a team captain while winning the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award for his charity work in the Pittsburgh community as well as in his home country of Haiti.

Alexandre is now the third member of the Pittsburgh defensive front to make it to an NFL roster. Unanimous All-American Calijah Kancey was a first-round selection of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Habakkuk Baldonado joined the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. That now makes 6 NFL draft picks and 4 UDFAs for the Pittsburgh Panthers.
