Pitt OC Mark Whipple says he wants to get the Panthers back to the national championship level with his "explosive play calling".
It's nice to see that he's still playing basketball. I am in favor of athletes playing multiple sports. Of note, is the number one ranked PA football recruit, Julian Flemming of Southern Columbia is also playing basketball this season.
I found this article in Intermat to be interesting and thought Pitt fans might like it, too.
Good news for the sport of wrestling and Pitt out of the Pitt-Bradford campus. I have an uncle who went there and is the only Pitt fan in the family and a friend from high school who went there and discovered the wonders of marijuana. That's all I know about Pitt-Bradford. I am glad to see this development. The growth of wrestling is good news.
I hope Barbour and Lyke can find a way to make it work and make the Pitt v. Penn State game an annual game.
Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed, a 6-9 small forward who averaged 15 minutes per game last season at VCU has signed with TCU. Hamdy-Mohamed is best known as a rebounder and should fit well with the style Dixon prefers to run. Sadly this leaves one less potential player to refill our depleted roster.
According to Flo Wrestling, Keith Gavin, former Pitt national champ will be the next head wrestling coach at Pitt.
The Panthers have been turned down again by another head coach. Santoro (Lehigh), Flynn (Edinboro), and now Chris Bono of South Dakota State.
Pitt had two 1st teamers, including the top TE in the conference.
Mike and Joey discuss all of this weekend's Week 9 ACC games. Can Florida State knock off Clemson, and how would it affect the conference's Playoff hopes? Can Virginia Tech navigate a tricky Thursday night game in Pittsburgh? Will Miami get back on track on the road, or will Notre Dame make it 4 straight losses for the 'Canes? And...Louisville's covering 31.5 against UVA, right?
The Basketball Conference Sportsbook was also established out of seemingly nowhere, offering all sorts of random prop bets for all of the weekend's games. Over/under 25 pass attempts between Wake Forest and Army? Over/under 2:30 in Time of Possession before Louisville scores? Wagers taken only in the form of votes in our Twitter polls. Also, what impromptu, bogus sportsbook would be complete without its keepers offering their top ACC Picks of the Week?
