Pitt basketball takes on Rhode Island tonight in its season opener. While the Panthers can and should win this game, it could be tested.
URI was an NIT semifinalist last year, losing to the North Carolina Tarheels by one in OT. But the team will have a slightly different look without last season's top scorer, Keith Cothran.
Unlike many teams Pitt will face this season, though, the Rams have a seven-footer that the Panthers will have to contend with - 7'0", 245-pound center Will Martell. Martell averaged 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds last season.
Still, at home, Pitt should have little trouble winning this game.
