Pitt can hardly afford another loss to the frontcourt after Khem Birch has left the team a bit shorthanded. I've already gone over how the team's depth has been affected, but now Ray Fittipaldo hints in the Post-Gazette that Talib Zanna may be hurting a bit.

Great.

The news isn't huge and it doesn't sound like a major injury, but Zanna does seem to be a bit hurt:

*Talib Zanna was limping after conducting interviews with reporters today, but he said he would be able to play tomorrow night against St. Francis. Dixon said a couple of others were banged up as well, but he did not give any indication that any of them would miss the game.

Zanna is the best Panthers' big man off the bench right now and losing him for even a short time would be a big blow. It would force Dixon to play even smaller and thrust backup center Malcolm Gilbert into an even bigger role.

Pitt should easily win tonight's game against St. Francis, but Zanna will be one of the reasons to watch. He's been playing well lately and had a huge game on Saturday. It sounds like he'll be able to go, but we'll see how close he is to being 100%.
