Pitt football head coach Paul Chryst picked up a recruit on Thursday, according to Scout. Avalon's (Gaithersburg, Maryland) Rachid Ibrahim reportedly chose the Panthers for the Class of 2013. Ibrahim is a safety and a running back with over 400 yards rushing and six touchdowns. A few weeks ago, he rushed for nearly 200 yards. Don't let those numbers fool you, though - he rushed for over 1,800 yards as a sophomore and 1,200 yards as a junior before splitting carries this season. He also had four interceptions as a sophomore and 26 touchdowns.
He's a three-star recruit according to Scout, ESPN, and Rivals and also reportedly had offers from Iowa and Boston College. Ibrahim also felt like West Virginia was going to offer him soon according to this page. If you're into combine numbers, here you go - courtesy of Under Armour. And if you want videos - we've got those, too.
Not sure where he ends up, but if it's as a running back, the Panthers' stable back there gets even more full.
Stay tuned - we'll have more on him a bit later.
