The Big East has a thoroughly unimpressive list of Big East football coaches right now. The already thin list got even thinner with the defection of West Virginia.

Nevertheless, Athlon put together a ranking of current and future Big East coaches.

Charlie Strong of Louisville pretty much tops this list merely by default. He's taken a bad program and made them pretty respectable - even great on the defensive side of the ball. But he still hasn't won anything yet and is only just barely over .500 in his two years. They're picked as the favorites this year by some, but I've got to see more to take them too seriously.

Meanwhile, Paul Chryst comes in at fourth among current coaches. Even if you think Chryst will be better, it's hard to slot him much higher since he's never coached a single game as head coach.

Of the current coaches, Kyle Flood at Rutgers comes in last. Here's the full list.
