Projected as a middle-rounder, it's pretty hard to figure out where offensive tackle/guard Lucas Nix will wind up. We took a look at Nix' prospects on Sunday, but here's a look at some teams that seem interested in his services.
Draft Insider says that Nix is drawing interest from the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. Needless to say, many fans over at SB Nation's Bengals site don't think adding him would be a good idea. Then there's Comcast Sportsnet Washington, which thinks the Redskins could target him. CSN is particularly interested in his toughness:
Do you like your lineman missing some teeth? How about when asked what it was like to return from injury say, "when I came back I came back to the old swing of things and I was just out there trying to kill people"? Then let me introduce you to Nix, a three-year starter who played both guard and right tackle for the Panthers, but likely remains inside on the pro level.
KFFL also says that the Tennessee Titans met with him in March and the Eagles worked him out this month.
Teams can make plans for the middle of the draft, but it's entirely too hard to predict. Not only do their picks depend on who's available, but if they targeted a certain position early on and didn't find what they were looking for, they could be looking to fill that position later.
Based on many of the reports out there, it seems like Nix is a real possibility for the fourth or fifth round.
